Less daylight, not no daylight
Winter production is lower, mostly because the days are shorter and the sun sits lower. On a bright, cold day a system can still produce well. Snow that slides off tilted panels clears quickly, and a light dusting often melts within hours.
This is why a system is sized against your full-year consumption, not a single month. Strong spring, summer and autumn production balances the quieter winter weeks, and the annual figure is what determines your savings.
